It's not a rice cooker, arguably more sophisticated pressure control system than any rice cooker out there. The reset is standard for anything that remembers the user's settings though.

random tangent but does any of elses IP have a chemical smell when you run it dry to test? mine still has a weird smell after a year of use, having cleaned the machine twice.
that's the silicone sealing ring on the lid, it absorbs everything and needs to be replaced.

silicone ring 100%. Keep a separate one for savory recipes and another for sweet stuff in case you do desserts in the thing.

its an assumption but based on the fact that the settings are saved after power loss. It has to be some form of nonvolatile memory, could be an eeprom or flash memory but the principle is the same.

It's almost certainly an eeprom on the control board. Its the standard component on these types of appliances. I know you could probably read the contents with a memory programmer but theres no reason to.
hold cancel didnt work on mine so I had to hold the pressure cook and cancel buttons together for like 10 seconds to factory reset it. Duo evo plus.
