Quick question about resetting an Instant Pot back to defaults

Two beeps means it worked. One long beep just means it recognizes the cancel button being held. You have to hold it longer.

It's not a rice cooker, arguably more sophisticated pressure control system than any rice cooker out there. The reset is standard for anything that remembers the user's settings though.

that's the silicone sealing ring on the lid, it absorbs everything and needs to be replaced.

silicone ring 100%. Keep a separate one for savory recipes and another for sweet stuff in case you do desserts in the thing.
