BlendJet not working, what are the usual culprits?

I fixed one for my sister-in-law last christmas. Used a heat gun on low, worked my way around the seam with a plastic spudger, took maybe 20 minutes to get it open without cracking anything. Inside was actually pretty straightforward, the battery was a single 18650 with a tiny pr…

this is the way. The port is almost always the issue and reflowing is a 5 min job once your in

are these the ones that got recalled? i remember hearing something about fires

Yeah the BlendJet 2 had a massive recall in late 2023, like nearly 5 million units. Battery overheating issue. If you have one check the serial number on their recall page, you might be able to get a replacement or refund instead of trying to fix it.

the recall was a joke btw, they sent everyone a 'base replacement' that didn't actually fix the issue, just changed the firmware to limit how much current the motor could draw. People who took the refund made out way better

solid red = blade jammed, easiest fix in the world, turn it upside down, fill with warm water and dish soap, double press to run a cleaning cycle. Clears 90% of jams without opening anything

the motor itself is a small brushed dc unit, nothing fancy. If its actually the motor and not the controller you can find replacements on aliexpress but again, you're building a new blender
