Was looking into why these little BlendJets crap out so often and figured I'd toss the list here for anyone else struggling with them. From what I can find, there are six common issue with them (from the LED indicators alone) before you even have to crack open the unit:
Flash purple = in lock mode (double press to exit)
Flash red = jar not seated into base correctly
Solid red = blade jammed
Battery not charging
Motor going bad
Power button failure
The button and charging port are the most common failures due to these mentions.
For those who have actualy opened one up to tinker with the battery/motor, have you done so? They are sealed pretty tightly, but you could replace the power button. The charging circuit is the same question, is it the charging port or is it further along the circuit?

opened one for my kid, the housing is glued not screwed. You basically have to crack it. Not worth it imo, just buy a new blender

Flashing purple gets me every single time with my wife's. She'll call me from work freaking out and its literally just the lock. Double press the button, problem solve. They really should of put that in bigger letters on the manual.

Has anyone actually measured the current draw on a healthy one vs a dying motor? I'm curious as to if there's a way to diagnose a bad motor vs. Guess work.

the charging port is 100% the most common failure. It's micro usb on the older ones and the solder joints crack from people yanking the cable. If you can solder you can fix it but you have to get past the glued shell first

if you do crack one open use a thin guitar pick and warm it up with a hair dryer first. Heat softens the adhesive. Dont use a knife unless you want to slice your hand open

You forgot one of the biggest issues, the battery cells themselves swelling. Mine puffed up after about a year and the bottom started bulging out. This is a fire hazard and there's no easy way to fix it. The BMS on these is also really cheap and locks the cells down if something happens to the battery. In my opinion combined with the swollen batteries and glued together housing these are landfill products by design.

wait does the BMS actually have a reset or is it just done once it trips?

flashing red = jar not seated right is the one that gets people. Half the time its just a tiny bit of pulp on the contact ring at the base of the jar. Clean that and its fine

I fixed one for my sister-in-law last christmas. Used a heat gun on low, worked my way around the seam with a plastic spudger, took maybe 20 minutes to get it open without cracking anything. Inside was actually pretty straightforward, the battery was a single 18650 with a tiny protection board. Her issue was the charging port had pulled away from the pcb, reflowed the joints and added a dab of hot glue for strain relief and it's been working for about 8 months now. So it can be done, just takes patience and the right tools.
