Can someone help me or give me some advice on how to remove a plywood from a glued subfloor? I have tried several attempts and none of them seems to work. I have also tried prying the plywood up, but the glue is very strong, and I think I will damage the whole floor underneath if I keep on prying it up. I need some advice on how to remove a layer of plywood with less or no damage to the floor below.

A heat gun might do the trick with this problem. First, warm up the glue before prying. Just make sure that you don’t burn the floor in the process.

I had a similar problem once and I ended using a circular saw just to cut the plywood into smaller sections. I remember that I had to set up the blade depth just for me not to cut too deep into the floor.

Can you tell me the exact measurements of the sections? I need to reduce my mess close to zero.

An oscillating multi-tool with a scraper blade is a helpful tool specially for very strong glue. As a carpenter, this tool is very helpful for separating wood layers and will keep the damage to bare minimum.

Some glue has its own remover, read the label of the glue if you still have it. If you found the adhesive remover, gently apply it and leave it there for a while, and then scrape it all away.

I remember using a brand called Goo Gone, they are specifically made for floor glues, it works like magic.

The best solution for stubborn glue is a hammer drill with a wide chisel bit. It will help separate the subfloor from the plywood.
