Common reasons a Delonghi La Specialista stops pumping water?

The order listed by the original poster is basically the order I use and most other people I’ve seen doing these repairs. Nobody works on these machines without first checking the tank seating.

The flowmeter is the most common issue on these machines. I’ve done about a dozen La Specialista machines in the last 2 years. Half had the flowmeter issue then the solenoid and scale getting half the machines to the point where the pump will fail. The rest were actual pump failures or dumb issues with the tank seating.

same here. Actual dead pumps are rare.

For these machines the reset is to hold the two buttons for 5 seconds. It beeps and that’s it. Costs nothing to try and works occasionally to fix pump issues.

if the machine makes the sound of the pump but there is no water coming out do not continue to run the machine. This will burn out the pump and you will have to get a new one. A maximum of 30 seconds without water to run the machine.

This is why I will never buy another coffee machine with a flowmeter. E61 lever group machines, go manual. Nothing to fail. My take on these machines is they will last me a lifetime but my La Specialista will outlive me.
