Jasmine rice in an Aroma cooker, is 1:1.5 the right ratio?

Quick question for any who runs jasmine rice through their Aroma cooker regularly. I've seen a few different recommendations for the proper ratio of water to jasmine rice. From what I understand, you should use 1 cup of jasmine rice to 1.5 cup of water, rinse the rice, then use the "white rice" program on the cooker which takes 40 minutes to complete. I'm not sure why 1.5 is recommended since that seems like more water than I would typicaly use when cooking jasmine on the stove (~1:1.25) but perhaps it’s to compensate for the longer cooking time. Additionally, some people argues for rinsing versus not rinsing the rice prior to cooking. I'm curious to know from those who use Aroma cookers for cooking rice what the proper steps are, if anyone has experimented with these ratios, and if the "white rice" program is the best setting for cooking jasmine rice.

1:1.5 is fine but I do 1:1.25 and it comes out perfectly. The "cooker needs more water" theory is overblown. Just because the cooker heats it to steam and then it rests it for a few minutes, its locked in.
 
rinse it. Not because the cooker cares but because you're washing off the talc and starch dust that's sitting on the grain. Unrinsed jasmine tends to come out more gummy on top when cooked
