Jasmine rice in an Aroma cooker, is 1:1.5 the right ratio?

Quick question for any who runs jasmine rice through their Aroma cooker regularly. I've seen a few different recommendations for the proper ratio of water to jasmine rice. From what I understand, you should use 1 cup of jasmine rice to 1.5 cup of water, rinse the rice, then use the "white rice" program on the cooker which takes 40 minutes to complete. I'm not sure why 1.5 is recommended since that seems like more water than I would typicaly use when cooking jasmine on the stove (~1:1.25) but perhaps it’s to compensate for the longer cooking time. Additionally, some people argues for rinsing versus not rinsing the rice prior to cooking. I'm curious to know from those who use Aroma cookers for cooking rice what the proper steps are, if anyone has experimented with these ratios, and if the "white rice" program is the best setting for cooking jasmine rice.

1:1.5 is fine but I do 1:1.25 and it comes out perfectly. The "cooker needs more water" theory is overblown. Just because the cooker heats it to steam and then it rests it for a few minutes, its locked in.

rinse it. Not because the cooker cares but because you're washing off the talc and starch dust that's sitting on the grain. Unrinsed jasmine tends to come out more gummy on top when cooked

wait does the white rice program adjust based on the weight of the rice? I would think it senses something since its cooking rice but never looked into it specificly

its just a fixed program that sets off a thermistor that detects when the water have boiled off. Once its reaches 100C it switches into steam/rest mode
no weight sense on consumer cookers at this price point

As a guy who's cooked jasmine for 20+ years in an asian household the 1:1.5 ratio is wrong. Jasmine has less moisture than basmati or long grain american so go with 1:1.25 or 1:1.2 if you rinse it. 1:1.5 is a common ratio for people who grew up cooking minute rice. ALWAYS rinse the rice until the water runs mostly clear. Aroma's manual is for an american audience used to cooking parboiled garbage.

interesting so if I added like an extra half cup of cold water mid-cycle would it just extend the boil phase or would it confuse the program?
