If I purchase a deck belt without the -02 would it not physically fit to the treadmill deck?
It will physically fit however, the friction coating of the treadmill deck was changed during the manufacturing of the treadmill which could lead to the treadmill deck wearing down faster when using the treadmill with the incorrectly specified deck belt.

No. The treadmill warranty is for the original purchaser only.

Its intresting the way they discussed the friction coating for the treadmill deck. I would have never thought of that it would cause the deck to wear at a faster rate.

More grippy than normal which creates more friction drag on the deck wax which can wear it down faster. The wax wears down and the deck starts to wear because of it.
