Anyone using the Rice button for long grain white in the Instant Pot?

Seeing as there were a few discussions regarding whether the dedicated Rice program on the Instant Pot actualy do long grain white rice properly, figured I'd ask the question here in the forum.
The standard method is supposed to be 1 cup of long grain white rice (rinsed) with 1 cup of water (ensuring a 1:1 ratio). Place the rice and water in the Instant Pot, place the lid on, set the valve to sealing and press the Rice button (which runs the pot at low pressure for 12 minutes). After the 12 minutes you can either naturally release the rice or quickly release it depending on personal preference.
With long grain white rice, should the 1:1 ratio be use? Many stovetop recipes uses ratios of 1:1.5 or 1:2. Could someone increase the amount of water for the slow release pot? Does the choice of natural release or quick release make a difference with long grain rice? I'm curious as to the thoughts on these question.

honestly i stopped using the rice button years ago. Manual high pressure 4 min + 10 NR gives me a better texture for basmati and jasmine. The low pressure rice program just takes forever for no real benefit imo

wait does rinsing actually matter that much? like ive skipped it before and it seemed fine, what does the rinse step actually do beyond removing surface starch

Removes excess starch so the grains dont clump together and turn into a gummy mess. With long grain its less critical than with short grain but still noticeable. If you ever do sushi rice without rinsing youll see the difference immediate.

the 1:1 ratio works because the pressure pot doesnt lose as much water than stovetop rice do. 1:1.25 ratios people use in the IP end up with mushy rice 9 times out of 10

ok that makes sense, follow up though, does the type of pot matter? like would a 6qt vs 8qt change the ratio at all since theres more surface area in the bigger one

QR vs NR makes a HUGE difference for long grain dont let anyone tell you otherwise. 10 minutes and quick release when you have long grain like jasmine, basmati, and white long grain. When I do rice I use 10 min NR then release the rest. Since I got my duo in 2018 this is what I use and ive yet to change it. Altitude can play a big role in how fast the water simmers so if your at high elevation you might want to add a bit more water and a minute longer release time. Its incredible how many people knows one specific way to cook rice in the IP when there are so many ways to prepare it for different rice varieties.
