Common reasons a Kenwood food processor won't power on?

The interlock switch takes a beating with every use. Its being slammed into place every use. The on off switch is just pressed once to start and once to stop. Its subject to more wear and tear with time.

If the interlock switch is just a microswitch with continuity could you wire two of these in parallel with each other?

Putting them in parallel would mean that if only one of the interlocks closed the machine would turn on. This defeats the purpose of a safety switch. A series circuit would do the same for redundancy. However, messing with a safety certified system on a machine with a blade you will end up cutting yourself just the same.

Ah yes i see what you mean. Its series not parallel. Brain fart there for a few minutes.
