White rice in a Crockpot Mini, anyone actually tried it?

Has anyone tried making rice using jasmine or basmati rice in the crockpot? I’d think that the ratio would be different for these types of rice than long grain rice.

On the topic of rice types. Yes, the ratio is different with jasmine and basmati rice. For the Mini crockpot I use a 1:1 ratio with basmati rice and it comes out perfect. Basmati rice does have more starch so be sure to rinse it well prior to cooking. The 3.5 hour time stays the same for me for any type of rice.

that’s helpful actualy, thanks for the tip! I’m making rice with basmati for a dinner this weekend so I’ll be using the 1:1 ratio. Also, do you soak rice prior to adding to the crockpot?

I agree with the slow cooker comments above. Crockpots are for slow cooking, not for the convenience of rice cookers. When I make stews I also need rice to accompany the stew so I may as well use the crockpot mini for the rice rather than hunting for my rice cooker. For rice in crockpot minis I use a 1:1.3 ratio and always rinse the rice first.
