What exactly does Lock Mode do on a BlendJet?

Saw Lock Mode discuss a few times in the BlendJet BlendJet threads. Thought I'd ask since the manual covers it in a thin section. From what I found, you must hold the power button until the led indicator blink purple three times which should place it in Lock Mode. The blender will not run while in this state. To exit Lock Mode, hold the button again until it blinks blue three times indicating the blender are unlocked.

Yeah, I know this one. My mom called me the other day convinced hers was dead. Took her 40 minutes to get to her place, held the button until it blinked blue and she was happy with me tell her it was unlocked. She still dont believe me when I tell her the blender was in Lock Mode.

You can find this on the quick start card but nobody read those. I've seen three BlendJets in the last week get returned to my buddy's shop because they accidental hit Lock Mode.

wait does the lock mode also disable the charging indicator? would plugging it in while locked prevent the LED from flashing to show charge levels?

Only the motors, I believe. Just left mine locked in for an overnight charge last night with no issue.

I'm surprised there are still BlendJets being purchased in 2024 after the recall. BlendJets is a fire hazard with the smoothie attachment.

lol, my nephew triggered Lock Mode on a full cup of berries while in the car. Looked like a crime scene! Would of saved us all that day though.

The most common cause of accidental Lock Mode is someone pressing the button against something in their bag while holding the BlendJet.
