What do you think about Milwaukee track saw?

Just got a brand-new Milwaukee track saw and I am really hyped over it because I really wanted to compare it to Festool and Makita if it really lives up to its hype. Luckily, it did and I am really happy with its performance, its new cordless tech that can reach really tight spots and crowded workspaces, and its clean cuts that has a seamless finish.

My only concern about this track saw is that “is it really worth it for its price?” Don’t get me wrong, I really loved every bit of detail it has, except for its dust collection that isn’t as efficient as I imagine. It doesn’t even live up to Festool system when talking about dust collection. But the blade alignment was a different story – ultimately smooth track system!

What’s your best option between these two – Milwaukee’s portable and seamless finish VS Festool’s dust collection system?

I vote for Milwaukee. I use Milwaukee for almost a year now, no complaints whatsoever. I work on site daily and it’s really nice to have this tool.

That’s true, Milwaukee track saw doesn’t compare to Festool system in relation to dust collection, especially in workshop environment or indoor settings – a real pain in the ass for me. I think Milwaukee tools focuses more on their cordless system unlike Festool that focuses more on their dust management system – it mainly depends on you, on what you need most.

That’s the main reason I’m with Festool rather than Milwaukee – due to its dust collection system and because I do most of my work indoors. Not only does it win my heart on dust collection, it also better in precision setups.

I can vouch for its quality clean cuts, especially on plywood and hardwood jobs, but not for its dust collection ability. Not only that it is pricier compared to Festool, it doesn’t do its job well when it comes to dust collection – no competition even with Makita.

Great saw, just need a different vac for assistance in the dust.

I know, it is really sad that Milwaukee didn’t reach our expectation in dust collecting, but it doesn’t mean that it’s a bad tool. Milwaukee and Festool have their own pros and cons, I think the pro of Milwaukee’s track saw is that it has more play compared to Festool.

Plus, if you’re already into Milwaukee tool ecosystem, you won’t be needing any new batts or accessories or chargers or any extra attachments just to fit into your tool – you’ll be only needing Milwaukee for the rest of your job.

Hmm… I just want to know if you have tried modifying it, like adding some dust shroud? I’ve seen videos of people who does that on YouTube. From what I saw, it helped them tremendously, would you consider it?

Not yet tried it, but I’m considering it because I saw some 3D-print adapters that might be useful, meaning that someone must have been through the same problem as me.

For me, Festool still holds the top spot when it comes to small details. Even though this is true for me, Milwaukee’s track saw has a little flex that can make a difference for very fine tasks.

The best part of Milwaukee track saw is its ergonomic feature that no other brands can surpass. Easy to use, handy, very portable, nothing beats Milwaukee in this part.

I’ll keep this in mind before making any major decisions. Loved the track flex, I didn’t even consider it at first before you commented about it.

For its price, I think its worth it. Maybe it doesn’t focus on dust collection, but it focused more on the portability which any other brands didn’t have.
