What do all the Ember Mug light colors actually mean?

See if you've ever wondered what the LED on your Ember mean. While it's been years since I last looked it up myself, here's what I found:
Flashing red = charging
Solid red = low battery
Solid green = fully charged
Flashing white = bringing mug to temp
Solid white = reached temp
Flashing yellow = after successful reset
Flashing blue = Bluetooth pairing mode
Any other color = user selected in an app
The yellow one I always forget, most people never reset there mug. The white and green are easily confused, the green is just for dock charging, white for the mug. Im curious if anyone else noticed other colors, firmware issue perhaps?

Wait. Does flashing yellow only come after a full reset or also a soft reset? I’ve done the soft before without ever seeing flashing yellow.

This is mostly correct but for Travel Mug 2 the LED are different. Solid white pulses when actively heating vs just maintain temperature. The green on the charging dock is actualy a very pale green that some people see as white, the reason for much of the green/white confusion. I’ve had three of these over the years and the second generation is much easier to read than the original.

Is the Travel Mug 2 worth it vs the regular mug? I drink at my desk but sometimes have to commute.

Flashing blue for Bluetooth pairing is for a reason, every Bluetooth device on the planet does the same thing. Why Ember would want to reinvent the color for Bluetooth pairing is beyond me.

Does the app tell you the state of the mug or do you have to rely on the light? Dont seem like they had to make the app if they had to memorize all of these colors.

The app does but it’s faster with the LED. If your phone isnt near the mug the LED is the only feedback you get from the mug.

My Ember brick after 14 month. Went solid red on the mug and wouldnt turn on even with it on the charging dock. Support sent me a new one. The first gen battery dies around 14 months.
