Samsung microwave child lock, how does the button combo actually work?

ok makes sense, but then why do models with two button combinations exist then? Is it just an alternative to the 3 second hold

Probably because the person who programmed that button didn't want to add a button for child lock so used two existing buttons. Its just a cost issue to avoid adding an extra button for a child lock feature
