Need help with collected saw dust

Hey guys! Has anyone known or have an idea on how to deal with a pile of collected saw dust that’s beginning to become a mountain in their garage!

Please help! Any creative approach is widely accepted! Even practical suggestions – I just don’t have any idea on how to handle them and I hate the idea of tossing them. Thanks in advance!
 
I usually compost my excess saw dust, not only because they break down very well, but also good when mixed with other kitchen scraps. Just don’t compost woods that are treated or painted – they’re harmful for the things in your garden.

Yeah! I compost mine too! Do you have a garden?
 
Use it for bedding of your pets! Just be wary of hardwoods like walnut, they’re not pet friendly and can be toxic. I have one made for my rabbit; he loves it! 😊
 
Keep some for accidents like spill cleanup in your garage! It’s very handy to have some and soaking up oils and other liquids that’s very hard to clean. Very practical thing to have!

Finally, someone said it! I always have a bucket of sawdust ready whenever these situations come. They’re dirty cheap and way more effective compared to store boughts!
 
Sawdust can also be used for arts and crafts. I’ve been using them for projects like wood filler, homemade fire starters, making sculpting materials, and many more.

Even for your case (a mountain of sawdust) you can donate it to your local farms. There, they will make it a bedding for their animals. The choice is yours, whether you’ll donate them, use them for your artistic creations, and for the added growth of your garden.
 
Use them as fire starters, dude! I’ve seen a clip on YT that sawdust mixed with melted wax can be a great fire-starter pucks. Easy to make, very handy when done, and very handy in winter!
 
I’ve always kept some for specific purposes like sanding tricky spots. Works great all the time, just sprinkle some on damp surface, works like very great abrasive. Awesome stuff!

Thanks! The trick here is to mix the sawdust into the wax while its melted, then pour the mixture into molds like egg trays or cartons. Once its solid, cut it out from the molds and keep them for emergency use! 😉
 
I’ve been planning to use mine as a mulch base. Anyone has an input on this? Where should I put it?

Yeah, I’ve done a project like this. It’s really good for areas that you don’t want weeds but not as close as your plants – just in the middle of them. Mulch base can suck up nitrogen while it breaks down, which is not good for the plants!
