Good day, folks! I need your expert opinion about mini split system because I wanted to replace my window type AC unit. Not only does my window AC loud, it hasn’t been able to perform well in my 900sqft condo. That’s why I need your expert opinion on mini splits, not just by the coolness it gives, but also for the aesthetic design of it.

Is a mini split enough? Or do I need to go as far as buying a split type AC? I’m really troubled; can anyone enlighten me? I think mini-splits are enough. I just don’t want to do an overkill or spend less or more than enough.

Plus, how much do I need for their installations? Do you have any third-party recommendations or should I let the ones I bought it with install them? What’s your take on this? Also, are they really good when it comes to conserving energy bills?

Last, if you have time, please send me some good brand recommendations – reputable, with great customer service, and cheap but efficient cooling capabilities.

Thanks in advance!

I suggest mini-splits that are single-zone unit – perfect for condos, smaller spaces, and really quiet when turned on. I think they’re perfect for your place!

Overkill? Nah… It’s true, saving of the energy can really add up over time. Actually, you can calculate it on your own! Also, mini-splits are known for consistent cooling temperature. Hmm… For brands, I suggest Daikin or maybe Mitsubishi!

I could vouch for mini-splits all day because I have just purchased one and it would never be the same again! 😁What can I say? Efficient, quiet, cools really well. Yeah, that sums it all up. Cost $4,200 on the installation, so what? If my energy bill has a noticeable drop, then it’s all good! 😁

Me too, I’ll vouch for mini-splits all day! Installed one in my 1,000sq. ft. space and it was really the best decision I ever made! So efficient and comforting, my family loved it, and the way the air flows in our place is too well. Not to mention the precise control of temperature in a room. 5 stars!

I also vouch for brands like Mitsubishi, Daikin, and LG. They’re the most reputable brand out there and have great customer service! Just be mindful where you place your unit, you need to strategize well before installing, and remember that poor installation can ruin your experience.

If you won’t use is as a heater, then go for units that specifically for cooling – they’re much cheaper compared to units that can be used for heating.

Go for it! If you have the budget, then go! I suggest you visit your local mini-split dealer and ask them what unit is great for your condo. Let them do a survey if needed!

Great! How was it? Did you have any major issues? How much was it again?

Great one, dude! That’s a real saver. Is the cost of cooling only unit differs that much to heating-cooling units?

I appreciate your detailed input! Btw, where did you exactly put your unit? And how well does your unit cools your place?

Here’s what I learned from my exp with a larger place and mini-splits.

Placement – Proper placement of your unit is key when making it cost-efficient. For me, placing it in the middle will do the trick – even cooling for the whole place.

Maintenance – Basic maintenance is all you need to know, cleaning of filters, dustings, and web buildups are most of the task you need to work on.

Size – The size of your place should be proportioned to the power of your unit. Too big of a room and you’re doomed!
