For the recipe that uses the pot in pot and requires dairy ingredients, how much water should be used in the outer pot? Does it come to pressure to the same degree?
For this recipe use 1 cup of water in the outer pot. Place a stainless steel bowl on the trivet and add the oats and milk to the bowl. It will come to pressure to the same degree but it will take a minute longer to reach pressure. There will also be no burn sensor warning since the milk will not come into contact with the heating element of the Instant Pot.
If you have an older model of the Instant Pot you will be fine with the recipe. However, if you have a newer model you will get a BURN sensor every time you use the recipe.
