is there a citrus juicer that is worth the money or are the cheap squeeze presses fine for juicing lemons?
The chefn freshforce is the gold standard for juicing lemons by hand. The geared juicer gets significantly more juice out of the lemon than a standard squeeze press yellow juicer.
The body says 3 larges for 200ml of lemon juice. However, this is cutting it really close. I would buy at least 4 lemons because you’ll get at least one or two that will be under the minimum size required to provide 200ml with the other three lemons.

Store bought lemons are usually waxed and have been sitting in the cold storage for weeks before being sold. Buy lemons from a farmers market or that you grow yourself to get the most juice possible. The 65ml from a large lemon is for the sad lemons from the supermarket but a fresh lemons will yield 90-100ml.

How does one determine if the lemon at the store is fresh or has been sitting for a while on the counter?
One way to determine if a lemon is fresh is to test its weight. Lemons that are “heavy” for their size are typically fresh and contain more juice; the others are dried out. The skin of the lemons should give slightly when squeezed but rock hard lemons have likely been sitting for a while. Lastly the color of the lemon should be bright yellow with a slight sheen; darker and more dull colored lemons are usually not as fresh.
My grocery store sells lemons in 2lb bags but the size of the lemons within those bags is noticeably different from each other. Some are the size of golf balls while others are the size of baseballs. So, averages it is.
