heads up, nextcloud desktop 35.0.1 wont open anymore - "UNIQUE constraint failed: metadata.inode"

psa if ur nextcloud desktop client auto updated to 35.0.1 and now just dies on launch. windows only shows the generic cloud provider popup, the log has the real line

UNIQUE constraint failed: metadata.inode

the update adds a unique index on inode in the sync journal and older journals already have dupes (mostly stale rows for stuff added to the exclude list later), so it asserts and quits

deleting the .sync_*.db journal in the sync folder gets it starting again, it just rebuilds local state

That unique inode index got reverted and the revert is lined up for 35.0.2, which isn't out yet, so the journal wipe is still it for now.
