Hamilton Beach FlexBrew not pumping water, what usually causes it?

See some posts on the FlexBrew units that won’t push water through anymore, hence the topic of discussion about this issue. There are 5 usual suspect for these models before people give up on the machine.
The first is that the reservoir is low on water. After that it could be a clogged water tube (flush it). Beyond that the actual pump could be failing (bad repair). The other two are user error related; the latch on the brew basket could be an issue or the water tank latch doesnt seat proper into the machine; or the holes on the FlexBrew reservoir could be plugged on the carafe or the single serve side of the machine.
What is the most likely of the 5 suspects? I’d say scale in the machine or clogs in the holes since these machines sits with water in them and nobody descales them. But have you done any repairs on a few of these models to see which of the 5 is the most common?

9 times outta 10 its scale. People pour tap water in these things for years and never run vinegar through. The pump struggle so much to push water out since its full of scale.

The latch microswitch on the single serve side is the most common cause of the machine failing to start up. The plastic tab on the switch wear down over time.

the controller cuts power to the pump. You wont hear the pump run. If you do its not the latch switch.
