Quick one for anyone who's cracked open a Hamilton Beach can opener before. According to the reviews, all you have to do is remove all the screws from the back of the can opener and the back cover will come off to reveal the internal component. There are no clips on the rubber feet, no glued areas to the back cover that can make it difficult to removing the back panel. It seems far too easy for a moddern small appliance.
Most appliances has at least one hidden screw on the appliance that you have to work at finding it to remove the back panel. Has anyone actualy seen one of these opened up? Curious as to whether or not it is that simple, or if there are any hidden screw or components on the can opener that would make it more difficult to open it up.
Considering that these can openers are so cheap, it is unlikely that the manufacturer will write any service or repair information for them. However, the motor and gears could be helpful to save if the cutting wheel or gear are the point of failure for the product. Thus, knowing how to open them up could be of assistance to those looking to repair them in the future. Has anyone done this for one of these openers and able to confirm the information I provided above?
