DeLonghi La Specialista knobs snapping off, anyone else dealt with this?

Had the same issue with mine. Used Tamiya plastic cement (the green cap) to adhere the knob to the machine and the plastic welded on itself. Not had an issue in 14 months. Only works on ABS plastic though.

how do you know what type of plastic its made out of? is there a marking on the knob?

sometimes theres a recycling triangle with a number inside the knob. If not, use acetone on a spot you dont care about seeing, if its ABS it will become tacky to the touch.

is the loctite plastic bonder the same as two part epoxy? or is it different? the bottles look the same at the store.

Loctite plastic bonder works differently because it sticks to low surface energy plastics like PP and PE which epoxy won't adhere to. Probably overkill for this job but will adhere to anything.
