Crockpot white rice coming out soupy, ratio or time issue?

Slow cooker rice question:
A few person have mentioned seeing rice cooked in a slow cooker and finding it come out too wet. The recipe that most people use are a 1:2 ratio of rice to water and cooking on High for around 2.5 hour. This tend to lead to rice that is too wet because the slow cooker dont allow for the water to evaporate like a pot of boiling water would.
The suggestion is to use a 1:1.5 rice to water ratio and cooking on Low for around 3.5 hours. This will provide rice with a better texture then the rice that cooks in the slow cooker using the other method.
Has anyone tried cooking rice in a slow cooker with these suggested alteration? Does it work in all slow cookers or does it have to be adjusted for the size of the slow cooker (especially the 6qt sized crockpot)?

Works great in 4qt crockpot, but in my 6qt oval the ratio have to be 1:1.3 or the rice (in the bottom layer) will turn to glue.
The surface area matter more than people think.

why even bother doing rice in a crockpot lol. Rice cooker is like 20 buck and takes 15 min

wait does the type of rice matter here too? like would basmati behave different than a standard long grain at 1:1.5? im guessing jasmine would be even wetter since it already cooks soft

basmati you can actually go a hair drier, like 1:1.25 since the grain are less starchy. Jasmine I wouldnt go below 1:1.5 or you get crunchy bits on top. Parboiled rice is the most forgiving honesty
