Cracking open a Magnifica S Smart, anyone done a teardown?

yeah ok in a perfect world buddy. Half the people posting here have somehow inherited these from someone who never descaled their machine once in 4 years.

fair enough i guess. Inherited machines are their own kind of horror show

is the brew group on these the same as the older magnifica or did they change the design? i have spare orings from my old one wondering if they'll fit

same brew group basically, the orings are interchangeable. The gearbox changed but the wet end where the brew group connects is the same on the newer models

One thing I forgot to mention when taking it all apart the side panels have a little channel on the bottom where water drains into a tray under the machine. Make sure it lines up with the channel on the case otherwise you'll get water inside the case which will lead to stale coffee water with a smell of death. At least that's what I learned after doing it the first time when I had to start over after two weeks.
