BlendJet has no actual reset button, what do people do?

Was poking around for some info on resetting the BlendJet and while I found lots on the subject, there was no reset button on these devices. Which is surprising given that it’s essentially just a sealed lithium ion blender. But anyway, here's what I found during my research about this topic that I see peoples asking about here in the forums.
The trick is simply to completely drain the BlendJets battery and then charge it back up until the device power on. This is supposed to clear up soft lockouts and blinking light codes. For hard resets, you have to open the device, which requires some skill since it is sealed with a li-ion battery, and simply disconnect and reconnect the battery itself. The other method is only advised for those who are comfortable with opening up these devices and who are willing to likely void their warranty.
The drain and charge method work for many BlendJets but does it work for every instance of a faulty BlendJet? Or does one have to resort to reattaching the battery clip to get the device to function?

drain and recharge fixed mine when it was doing the purple blink of death. Took like 2 days to fully die though cuz the firmware seem to stop drawing from the battery once it hits some cutoff voltage.

Honestly these are so cheap that it's almost not worth it try to fix them. I've tossed two BlendJets already because after about 1.5 years the battery begins to swell.

wait sothere's genuinely no reset combo for these BlendJets? no hold the button for 15 seconds trick that every other gadget on the planet seem to have?

The drain and recharge method works for most BlendJets that have soft lockouts (blinking codes, button not responding, etc). However, if the Battery Management System (BMS) has latched into a fault state it will not respond to the drain and charge trick. You will have to disconnect the BMS from the battery to clear the fault. Source: I've taken them apart for my friends who had faulty BlendJets.

cracking one open isnt that bad fwiw, its like 4 screws under the rubber base and the rest is clipped. The battery lead is a little JST connector that just plugs into the main board.

how do you actually drain it if the button isnt responding? can you draw from the USB port?
