the can opener is the dirtiest thing in most peoples kitchens and they dont even realize it. Food scientist did a study and swabbed the can openers in kitchens, the gear teeth had more bacteria than the toilet seat in alot of homes. Wipe yours after every use people
the bacteria thing is real tho, I clean mine after every use now. I live in a geriatric home with 13 other super old women and the cans have to be opened and there is a lot of tomato paste and beans to open. Takes like 10 seconds with a damp cloth.
