to actually answer OPs original question one more time since it got buried: clips all the way around the edge but weakest at the corners, use a pick or spudger not a screwdriver to pry open the cover, two screws underneath the trim, once you remove the two screws the back cover will lift off the appliance and no ribbon cable connects the two halves to each other. Thats it. You're good.
