interesting. So you'd be able MITM the ifit protocol and impersonate the app but no audio would be unlocked. That tracks with what you said above. Thanks.
fwiw when I asked nordictrack support about this with my 2950 they told me bluetooth is only for ifit and there are no plans to implement audio support. So this is by design.

of course they have no plans, they make money off ifit not you having a good time on your treadmill
dumb question but how does ifit use bluetooth? what data is sent?
the app tells the treadmill what speed/incline to be at and the treadmill reports stats like speed/incline/HR back. That's basically it.

and thats why ifit can automatically adjust the incline of your treadmill during a workout. The trainer 'controls' the treadmill via bluetooth.
