Curious if anyone here has actualy pulled one of these apart for cleaning. There's not a whole lot of information out there on how to get into a La Specialista to clean it (as opposed to a Gaggia or one of the older models from Delonghi). It sounds like its not terribly complicated but you have to see what others has done in the past prior to diving in yourself.
The process requires removing the water tank, the portafilter, the portafilter basket, the accessories, and then removing the outer cover. Beyond that, you will have to take it apart for whatever reason you went into the machine for (if for descaling, group head leaks, etc.). But most people recommend going through a guide or video to show exactly how to do it as some of the clips are not immediate obvious.
Any gotchas with the La Specialista? Does the grinder come apart from the brew side separately? If you’ve done this before on one of these machines, please tell someone who is curious but wants to avoid unnecessary destruction of their machine.
