Can anyone suggest me a technique on how to drill angled holes? I’m working with 2x4s by around 45degrees, tried eyeballing but failed, wanted to have some techniques that can be repeated for faster results.

I don’t have much so I don’t opt for super high-end equipment or accessories, still, I’m open for suggestions on what to use and how to use them tools.

Do you guys have any problems like these? I would love to hear your tips or suggestions, any advice will do, thanks a lot!

Pocket hole jig will do you great help! This tool is perfect when it comes to angles, esp 15-45degrees! Kreg is the brand, they make good pocket hole jigs, easy-to-use, and user friendly. Try it.

Try DIYing it, use a scrap wood and cut a block at 45 degrees. Use your clamps to have them stabled, use it as a guide for your drill bit. It will shock you at most for its very efficient while being cost-efficient.

Same problem. What I did was I used a drill guide with adjustable angle, bought some cheap ones on Amazon, ezpz finished it neatly

If you are doing this job frequently, you might want to invest on drill press and tilting tables. This two will give you precision like no other, will help you drill in tight spots, and drilling holes would be very easy when you own this two – especially those cordless and portable type.

You can do anything when you have these two accessories; just use a simple guide block or wedge jig, you can use also a chunk of wood to any angle and clamp it. The possibilities are endless with these two. Worth it!

I like your suggestion but I have a small area here. Drill press and tilting table would be a great help. Loved your suggestions, but sadly I can’t go with yours, my crib is very small with that setup ☹

Check out doweling jig kit. Pretty handy, easy to use, and works well in small places. You just need to find one that works for you

OP might be talking about straight-up angled, not joinery? I think pocket holes are not for these kinds of jobs, what you think?

Yeah, that’s true, I just wanted to mention it to OP. Pocket hole jigs are not ideal for this kind of job – definitely more for joineries.

3D printer nowadays can help you with this problem. Check out Thingiverse, they have lots of cool stuff especially angled drill guides and blocks, you only need solid clamps for fixtures.

This will help you really well for repeatability and cost, you will only be needing some filaments and creativity, and you’re good to go!
