I need solid suggestions bout heaters, especially now in this coming winter. I already owned central gas heater and some electric space heater. I wanted to know what’s good for the long-term usage? What’s the best heater to use? Are there any alternative modern heaters? Any recommendations, suggestions, ideas, comments are warmly accepted. Thanks in advance, guys!

I suggest you base what you use based on the size of your home, the number of people and rooms you will heat, and choose energy-efficient models.

Remember that central heat is good when warming a little house, and electric space heater is good when you have plenty of rooms in your house.

Make sure that you don’t have any leaks in your insulation to avoid any unnecessary waste of energy. If you have a leakage, I think its better to use electric instead of gas.

Got same problem every damn winter and this is how I fixed it, I checked for the real money bleeders in the house – leaks, energy wastes, heat spots, and cold spots. I go to the root of the problem, twas why I go for a hybrid type of approach.

I used gas for my whole house but set it on low so that it has a lower cost at the same time my whole house is not freezing. Then, I used an electric space heater on other parts of my house that we usually hang out like our living room and dining area.

Last, take consideration about the rates of electric and gas in your area. Some areas offer much cheaper gas compared to electric, others have cheaper electric than gas.

Consider safety when having electric heaters. Yes, it may be the cheaper option, but when you have a kid and some pets, they might not be the safest.

I think it depends on your situation. I use electric space heaters for my small apartment and it works well for me – no complaints whatsoever, cheaper, cost-effective, no wasted energy.

Yeah dude, I’m with you! Those little electric heaters can waste so much energy especially when you leave them on even after using. I remembered paying a fortune once and it traumatized me up until now.

Choose electric heaters with thermostat so that you can control the temperature. Controlling the temp means controlling how much you pay 😉

Thanks for this tip, man! I guess it will work especially for my small house. I think it’s better to lower the thermostat of my central heater at night and use my electric heater in our rooms to save energy and heat my family properly. Should I try this approach? Will it be worth it?

Yes! It’s totally worth it! Just don’t run your electric 24/7 and you’re good to go. If you’re really unsure, just check your electric meter while using your electric heater and monitor how much does it consume in an hour or two.

I did an experiment once with my central gas heater. I started to run it in max and check for spots that needed sealing up – sealed them up and fixed the insulation of my house and it worked like a charm. The key here is to check your home’s capability to retain heat while you run your heater.

I 100% vouch for your input! Insulation is key, not just about the heating element. I tried weatherstripping for my doors and it gave me a great result. I recommend this to anyone.

Be careful on how much load you give on your circuit loads. Distribute them efficiently throughout your house to avoid unnecessary headaches in the future.

Use a sweater, or even electric blankets, or some hot water bottle or whatever. Keep this inside of your room and you’ll save more than enough, trust me! HAHA! This advice is for a stingy person like me 🤣😂🤣😂
