I disagree. I have ryobi 18v tool packs that I restored 3 years ago that are still running fine. The BMS is programmed to lock out the tool way before the cells are actually damaged; in most instances the cells is fine.

The pump will run but the machine will think there is no water going through. On some models it will buzz for a second then stop.

Counterpoint: the labeling is fine if you read the quick start card. People just chuck the documentation and then complain the appliance is confusing. It tells you right on page 2 that 1 and 2 are zone selectors. Not the machine's fault.

opened it up. Sensor can be checked with a multimeter. Mine was out of spec. Soldered in a new sensor for ~$4 and it’s been running another 2 years on it.

on the procore packs there is definately more going on, theres a small mcu in there that talks to the charger. The older 4ah and 5ah ones with the round style are pretty much just resistor ID though.

As with most ryobi 18v tools, the C1-C4 pins serves a simple function as balance leads. It's just a matter of hooking the appropriate leads to each of the junctions and you're good. Nothing special about them though.
