black beans yes, chickpeas no. Tried chickpeas on white rice cycle once and they were basic gravel in the middle. Had to run a second cycle and added another cup of water.

sure if you have 400 bucks and counter space for a giant box. For someone making ice cream 3 times a year the bowl is fine, you just have to actually use it correctly which is the whole point of this thread.

Reason there's no detailed teardown information for these FlexBrews is because nobody bother with them. They're just tossed in the landfill. Hamilton beach makes these for a certain price point and the repair community just ignores them in favor of the breville products or the higher end stuff...

Finally had this issue. Did 2 hours of research and forum digging before someone on another forum told me to turn the grind to fix it. Felt like an idiot. The manual never mention this so the error icon showing an empty bean container with no hint about the grinder having anything to do with it.

While rice cookers are an option, I find the crockpot mini make better rice. The rice cooker I own is a cheap Zojirushi knockoff and the mini crockpot does a better job than it.

I typicaly deep clean mine every 3 months, but since I drink roughly 4-5 shots a day every 3 months, it might differ for peoples who only drink one shot a day out of the machine.

Triac and pot on the ones I've seen, no feedback. That said they bog down at slow speeds with a heavy load because its just phase chopping the motor without using a tacho.

Unrelated but the grinder on the La Specialista is the weakest part of the machine. Ive had to change the burr assembly twice already.

12 hours is honestly the bare minimum. I leave mine in there permanent now, just lives in the back of the chest freezer year round. Never had a failed batch since I started doing that.

Straight pull on the one I did. Bit of wiggle and it came off, no grub screw. Newer ones might differ.

Got into an FPM250 a couple years back to fix a dodgy interlock microswitch. Bottom access got me to the motor and the main switch assembly but the interlock switch is mounted to the upper part of the machine so had to pop that off as well. There was a screw under the speed knob that i missed...

How long can you leave vinegar on it before it starts hurting the metal? Like is 15 min safe or will it hurt it if I leave it overnight?
