Has anyone tried just heating the rivet head with a soldering iron to soften it before pulling? aluminum doesnt care what heat you apply but if its some zinc alloy it may work to loosen it enough to grab with vice grips. Just thinking out loud here.

zinc melts around 800f so a soldering iron will never touch it. Might work on plastic rivets but these arent plastic
i chewed up my first one definately. Second one i used a dremel cutoff wheel to slice the heads off the product
oh dremel is smart, doesnt it mark up the housing tho?
