Anyone know any good options for house heating that doesn’t use electricity? I’m checking out on propane heaters, read that they’re safe but I still have my doubts about them. I need to have some quality, I badly need it especially winter is very near.

Kerosene’s the best for me – no canisters unlike propane, very efficient, and cost-effective. And just like other heaters, proper ventilation comes first before anything.
Have you ever search about thermal mass or do you already know about it? I think you might consider this one, if you’re really going for a change. This tech requires no constant fuel unlike all heaters out there.

My take on propane is that it is safe when you used it based on the manufacturer’s instruction and you have proper ventilation in your house. Check out Mr. Heater Buddy’s propane, they’re the most reputable brand when talking about prepping.

For me, I’d still suggest you to invest in a good quality generator and electric space heater just for back up. You’ll never know that you need them. I think that they’re a lot safer compared to wood flames inside my house.

insulate the room properly before buying a heat source. Invest on good block drafts, heavy curtains, large soft comfy rugs for living room, and try to set-up a large tent inside to trap heat. Do everything just to prevent heat from coming out your home, conserve warmth before choosing a heater.
