Are ceiling fans with built in LED lights worth it?

Good day, internet people!

I just want your opinions on built-in LED ceiling fans. Are they actually good? I heard that they are very practical because of its design (room airflow and lights in one appliance). However, its downside is it isn’t as bright enough and looks old-fashioned based on its design.

I got a living room that isn’t very huge, its just enough size to fit my family. During day, natural light gives decent lighting to our room, but on night, floor lamps and wall scones are my only light sources. I’m thinking of having a fan with light would give me a great air circulation with great lamination on my living room. Is it better to have a standalone fan with other LED options?

Do you guys got some suggestions and opinions on this? Can you recommend any brands or styles? Buy or avoid? What you guys think?

Space would be your primary concern about this dilemma. It very convenient and efficient to have a fan with light installed in the middle of your room, instead of opening several lights just to keep your living area lit. I installed the same in my den and I would never be any happier on this type of setting.

Not a fan of fans with built-in light (no pun intended lol). They feel outdated to me and doesn’t give much light that can light the whole room, unlike the modern ones. For me, I’ll get standalone fans and invest on wall-mounted lights compared to the fans with built-in lights.

I’m with you on this one. I remembered swapping mine with a regular one, my room looks very bright and sleek compared to my old fan-with-light settings.

Great point, dude! Perhaps it really depends on how much light I need for the space of my living room. I got large windows in my living room, that suffices the light I need in the day, but at night, I always use plenty of floor lamps and little lighting appliances. I think I’ll go with the fan with built-in LED.

The greatest drawback of this old style is the light that it gives – not as bright as the modern. You’ll get very disappointed when used as your main light source in the night. Choose a contemporary design if you really wish to have these old-fashioned devices – new styles with great lighting can be very hard to find.

Great suggestion, I agree, new designs are really hard to find. But I manage to find some decent options online. I bought one with a dimmable feature and its surprisingly bright. Plus, it doesn’t look bulky as the old 90s version. 😊

Also consider the cleaning side, bro! Cleaning and dusting fans with light could be a pain in the ass! Bugs, mites, and dust seems to have their way of entering these fixtures like its their main chore to do! I would definitely avoid them if I were you!

Thanks for the heads up, bro! I’ll keep it in mind!

I used to be a hater of these built-in light but I have changed my mind recently after seeing the modern designs which have better lighting options. Technology really did great on these fixtures, some of the modern designs are really bright and sleek.

After buying an integrated LED panel with super thin and sleek design, the total light in my area is great! Plus, it is very energy efficient and lasts very long compared to older bulb designs – making use of them for a longer time. Also, they have adjustable settings like dim, yellow lighting, and more for your choosing.

If you choose this route, just choose the one with adjustable lighting setting – it gives a great look and lighting on your room for any setting.

I’m beginning to like these contemporary designs. What brand do you suggest? I’d like to install one for my bedroom.

Forgot it but checked it now, it’s Hunter Advocate. A bit pricey but it’s really worth it. As I remember, it’s already one year since I installed it, but it still looks good as new.

Consider the time you use the fan vs the time you use the light. If you’re the one who always want to turn on the fan over the light, a separate fixture might be the one you need.

On point, dude! Smaller rooms give these fixtures better usage. They can feel a little bit underwhelming in larger rooms. If I were you, I’ll focus on a better lightning and let fans be fans.

As a lazy person (I know, I really am one hahaha), it’s about the convenience it gives for me. I have one in my home office. The fan and the light are controlled by a single remote, imagine that as a lazy person. 😂

ROFL! The remote is really a game changer! Convenience is a plus for me! 😂😂

If you’re decided to go with fan-with-light, make sure they are compatible with smart home system. All my appliance plus my fan and light can be easily controlled in my smart phone. No need to standup when turning them off when I’m already laying down before sleeping.
