Is there a cordless, battery powered air hammer?

I hate to say it but I think getting a compressor is the most viable solution to my problem.

Been there, my solution was to buy a small compressor and I was surprised by it. It was very handy, quiet, and efficient. I’m happy with my decision.

I you really wanted a cordless, portable air tool, and you have plenty of batteries, why not check out Milwaukee’s portable air compressor? Best to check theirs before any other brand.

I won’t vouch for SDS drill, it isn’t the same as the real air hammer – not even close.

User 6’s approach is true. It isn’t the same and it will never be. Just invest in a good quality air compressor and air hammer setup. It will do you good in the future, especially when you’re working with automotive tasks.

I’ve seen electric demolition hammers in action and I think they’re much harder to use compared to the traditional air hammer, they’re bulkier and heavier. If space and portability is your main concern, just use a small compressor together with the traditional air hammer. Just my two cents.

All I can say is that I am very happy I added a compressor to my setup even though I am really skeptic at first. It creates so much possibilities with pneumatic tools. Just get the one with decent capacity to handle your air hammer’s needs.

If you really wish your setup to be cordless. I would suggest electric demolition hammers, just don’t expect too much from them. Just remember that they are heavier and awkward to use than pneumatic hammers.

I could suggest rotary hammer for you because they have a hammer-only mode, but there are other great options you could consider specifically for you needs.

Best is to just buy a smaller air compressor. I know there’s a high-pressure model with a small tank – it doesn’t work as strong as the conventional type. Also, these smaller types of compressors will cost you much more compared to larger compressors in the long run.

A needler scaler will come in handy since you’re working with a rusty car. This tool is designed specifically for paint or rust removal, use this instead of the standard air chisel. There are also electric versions of these attachments in place of drill bits or chisel, even rotary hammer has attachments.

Been reading comments for years even before Ingersoll Rand’s 1/2" impact. I remember them saying that an air chisel would be the ultimate reason why anyone should keep a compressor on their garages.

Just to be perfectly honest with you, that’s also the reason why I keep a compressor in my garage, I think about 75% of my compressor use is mainly for air chisel, the rest is for my 1/2" impact and die grinders. Speaking of impact, I would prefer the mid-torque and eventually I fig out that even the HITW might occasionally come up short, so I kept the air gun ha-ha.

The air chisel alone is too useful for me, I would buy another compressor if I cannot use it anymore, that’s how useful it is for me. But seriously, compressor still has an important use in other tasks. I wouldn’t buy an inflator for a tire, or even cordless paint sprayer, I won’t waste money on them on the expense of having a compressor? I’ll have the compressor over any of these tools. I wouldn’t spend money on how little things I could use them for. Hope this helped you, mate!
