I’m getting really overwhelmed by the pressure of starting a new business, that is why my mind is everywhere and I needed to read some good advice from you. I’ve just decided to leap on a new path as a businessman from an apprentice.

I owned pretty much every basic tool that you can find when you’re an apprentice. I think I’m forgetting something, that’s why I ask your help to remind me of the things that I need the most.

If I were you, I’ll buy a solid label marker just to mark all of my stuff to keep them from being stolen. It might sound a little bit stingy at first, but it’s pretty reasonable.

Invest on the best cordless tools out there – DeWalt or Milwaukee sets. Choose their combo sets like with a free drill or impact drivers. Choose the best bang for your buck.

As a business owner myself, I could say that everything revolves around your organizational skills. Time is money, so don’t waste time finding tools. Here’s my tip for you:

Toolboxes – Organize your tools using Milwaukee or DeWalt ToughSystem, use their modular types to keep things transportable.

Keep Spares – You won’t know when you needed them, especially wire nuts, connectors, and spare testers. They could be a life saver when the moment comes.

Marketing – Make sure that you market your business in the online world. Get yourself a pro when it comes to handling your business. Especially nowadays that everyone is online.

Have some ladders that can be adjusted. I learned that you need fiberglass ladders when working beside a live electricity – ask some pros about this.

Don’t buy the cheap ladders, get something that is sturdy, I suggest Little Giant, check them out.

What’s your take about modular toolboxes? And, do you prefer any inventory apps or system?

I suggest you get a pretty decent laser level. You will be needing this tool every time there’s work on conduit runs and panel installation.
