Ninja Blast flashing green while charging, is that just normal behavior?

Seeing as how a few peoples has asked about this, figured it was worth starting a thread on since this comes up alot with the Ninja Blast.
The green light flash while the Blender is plugged into power indicates that it is charging. Once it is fully charged though, the light will be solid green instead of flash.
The Ninja Blast take approximately 2-3 hours to fully charge from empty to full. The other indicator lights on the Blender is as follows: if the light begins to flash yellow or red, this means that the battery is low and needs to be placed back on the charger. Thus, green indicates charging or charged while yellow and red mean the battery is running low on power.
For most people who are used to other appliances the flashing indicator can be confusing as it typically indicates some type of error on these appliances. However, for the Ninja Blast Blender, solid green indicates that the device is done with its cycle while flashing (while on the charger) indicates that the Blender is working properly. Has anyone here experienced the Blender not turning to solid green while it should of been done with its cycle?

mine stayed on flashing green for like 6 hours once. Once I changed the usb cable it went to solid green in 2hrs

Yeah, this is the same for nearly all lithium ion devices. Flashing mean it’s charging, solid means it’s done.

If it’s not going to solid green, it’s almost definitely the battery. Once the 18650 batteries degrades they cant hold a full charge to the negative terminal.

Its a pouch battery. When the lid cracked on mine it was exposed to moisture and the cell inside disintegrated. The cell itself is flat and not cylindrical.

The Ninja Blast is one of the worst portable blenders on the market. Get a Beast or a BlendJet 2 instead. The Ninja brand alone does a lot of the heavy lifting for this product.

Either the device’s port is dirty, the usb cable is cheap, or the battery cell is degraded. I’ve fixed four such devices for friends and three had the same issue with there charging ports.

Because it continues to charge while you sleep. The battery cell drains slightly while standing by and once it hits a threshold the battery begin to charge itself.

You can fix high impedance batteries by giving them a slow charge with a bench supply instead of the Blender charger. Works most of the time but not always.

2-3 hours is a little optimistic. I’ve had mine take 4 hours from empty to full and it has since new.

what wattage charger are you using? Could be the charger.

just the usb cable that came with it and one that came with my phone block. Thought it wouldnt matter.

When I had mine flash green forever the magnetic base was covered in smoothie residue. Once I wiped it down with alcohol the charger went to solid green in 2hrs.

see this is why I said these should be replaced every few months when you see how easily it gets gunked up with smoothies
